the adventurai: STANK

Three pieces of information are important to understanding this post.

I lived with eight girls and two dogs during my junior and senior years at UT. Our house was named Murderhaus, or MDH, because back in the day it was a halfway house for those recently released from prison. While living there we received letters from current prisoners asking to move in; we kindly declined. The fable that named the house goes something like this... A financial donor had his portrait over the fireplace in the halfway house. Someone broke in and stabbed the portrait with a knife. Thus, Murderhaus was born.
The Murderhaus ladies, or Murders, are the most adventurous, inspirational, supportive, impressive, fun, and loving roommates I could have ever dreamt of. I love them like family. The biggest point of conflict over the course of two years was refrigerator space; AKA we got along wonderfully!
For those of you who are unfamiliar with the STANK face, it is a frown with flair. It took me a full year to train my face muscles to STANK correctly. Exemplar uses are situations involving dance floors, alcohol, photo shoots, egotistical conversations, and YoungLife.

The photos below were sent between Murders via text. After one starts the thread, we all reply. It's almost a weekly thing. It's little things like this that help ease the "real world" blues for me.
