Bangkok (pt II)

Krungthepmahanakhon Amornrattanakosin Mahintharayutthaya Mahadilokphop Noppharat Ratchathaniburirom Udomratchaniwetmahasathan Amonphiman Awatansathit Sakkathattiyawitsanukamprasit, also known as Bangkok, has the longest official city name in the world as per The Guinness Book of World Records. It translates as the city of angels, the great city, the residence of the Emerald Buddha, the impregnable city (of Auytthaya) of God Indra, the grand capital of the world endowed with nine precious gems, the happy city, abounding in an enormous Royal Palace that resembles the heavenly abode where reigns the reincarnated god, a city given by Indra and built by Vishnukarn, but is most known as the 'city of angels.'

Bangkok reminded me of a crazier version of New York, New York with a greater prosperity gap. I thought it was ironic that I truly enjoyed my short stint living in New York last year, but I did not like Bangkok. The city was overwhelming and intimidating to me. I hope to go back before my flight home and give Bangkok a better go. I would like to have pleasant memories from there.
