*Wat means 'temple' in Thai.

Bangkok (pt IV)
The Grand Palace houses Wat* Phra
Kaew, or the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, and many other government buildings.
It is the most popular tourist attraction in Thailand, and I understand why.
The beautifully colorful buildings are set on a large plot of land on the Chao
Phraya River with nicely manicured gardens and lawns in between them. This was
the first of many temples I have seen, and it certainly set the bar high.
