Wat* Doi Suthep is on top of a mountain overlooking Chiang
Mai. Although I rode up the mountain in a cab, I climbed a huge stairway and
was exhausted by the time I made it to the top. The temple had a large dome in the center of the property, and visitors were encouraged to take a prayer card and read it to Buddha while walking clockwise around the dome three times. The prayer cards included the English alphabet and the Thai alphabet. I did my best with pronunciation and felt proud that I was the only Westerner brave enough to give it a try.
